Is this the only protein you're getting?

Then eat your eggs whole!! Stop throwing away the yolks, which is the most nutrient dense part of the egg...there is no reason at all to ditch them!

I personally eat eggs before I train...eggs, a bit of meat and veg.....the fat fuels you perfectly, it's the best preworkout meal IMO.

I am eating chick, tuna for protein.

@ sailorjerry: I am trying to get the best out of my food.
So though that feeding the muscle after a workout the eggs would be more beneficial.

@ fever:
I was lead to believe that a general rule of thumb was 1 whole egg for every 3 eggs used, as eating too much yellow will in crease your cholesterol.

You're misinformed - as is most of the population. Your body produces 90% of the cholesterol in your blood, which means only 10% of it comes dietary cholesterol. For healthy and active individuals, some cholesterol is needed as it plays a part in hormone regulation and creation - hormones like testosterone. So eat your whole eggs - it can only benefit you.

1 whole egg per 3 eggs is an asinine rule.

I've read many diet profiles in M+F magazine that advise egg whites over whole eggs. Wish there was a definative answere to this.

There is. Eat the egg yolks.

The only reason not to eat them that makes any sense at all is to lower calories consumed. The low-fat diet craze only worked for people (those few that it actually did work for) because fat is the most calorie dense macro and cutting it out significantly lowers calories making it easier to burn more than you consume. There isn't anything inherently physique ruining about an egg yolk.

But total calories consumed really isn't a problem if the rest of you diet is clean. For a new trainer, getting in even 2000 clean calories can truly be a challenge.

TorqIt2, Ok, I don't disagree right away. But does your reasoning hold up if the volume of eggs is more than two over easy at breakfast? What if the volume consumed is 8 - 10 eggs a day? Would you still recommend all those yolks, or maybe scale them back a bit?

I heard on the doctors tv show that you can eat eggs everyday and will not increase your cholesterol So I would say that you can eat them anytime most people eat there for breakfest

A while ago, I posted a study on my website that demonstrated that whole egg consumption actually raise HDL cholesterol which is thought of as the ''good'' cholesterol...

the perfect timing to eat eggs is when you are...................hungry

If you're worried about cholesterol, then no. Consumed cholesterol doesn't raise blood cholesterol levels significantly and if you are a physically active individual, then the cholesterol in eggs can only lend itself to more favorable production of desirable hormones.

And the definitive answer is........dont listen to M&F magazine !

Its fine if you want to look at hot chicks in bikinis or if you swing the other way then you can look at huge dudes.

But seriously, the good, relative info in M&F is few and far between.

If you eat raw egg then you can have it in the morning when you wake up and you can have boiled egg at any time!!
