At least eight people have been shot in an Orlando, Florida, high-rise office building, CNN affiliates report. |
It is a conspiracy to get gun control in the states. Obama has planted martyrs to do these deeds so he can get enough power to ban hand guns and assault rifles.
I am joking, so don't think I am not.

So how do propse you 'take steps to defend yourselves'? Lock them all up? Deport them? How bout a registry system you could even tatoo numbers on their arms...

Guys, just because he has a name of Middle Eastern desent doesn't instantly make him a terrorist...or a Muslim! Further more being a Muslim has nothing to do with this....I didn't see anything in the news report saying that he was a Muslim!
I work with a guy who was born in the UK but his family were from Iran...he is a total atheist and doesn't believe in religion, believe it or not that does actually happen.
I totally understand why Americans are twitchy about something like this, but can I also say that not all Muslims are terrorists, it seriously comes across that a lot of people here think that way.
The US media only ever shows you the bad side, as in the people that hide behind Islam to condone their actions....you never see or read anything about the millions of Islamic people who hate what the likes of the Taliban and terroists are doing to their faith.
I just want to add one other thing. I travel all over the world with my job and I have spent a lot of time in Islamic countries. Things became a lot clearer for me on one trip when the guy I was working with invited me to his mosque for their afternoon prayers. I definitely wanted to go and I have never been made to feel more welcome, there were about 60+ people in there and every single one of them wanted to welcome and greet me, all of them even thanking me for coming.
They also could not stop appolgising for the actions of people like Bin Laden, they genuinely wanted me to know that they hate the way Islam is being viewed by the western world and that they "pray for the bad peoples forgiveness every day"!!
Just something I wanted to say. |
I was actually going for the irony of what his job was. The fact he was muslim is moot. I just thought it was funny. He plays in peoples attics to determine whos cheese has slid off the cracker and he's the potato in a jacket who's running amok poppin' caps.
I can tell you exactly how he not only got into the army but made major. but i won't.

Can we let the investigation be complete first before we start saying stuff like this? |
Those conspiracy theorists are just as bad as those who are blaming this on PTSD. He gave his loyality to Islamic extermist instead of to the United States which had given him everything he had. There is no evidence at all that anyone was working with him. What is important is that we acuratly understand what happened.

And figure out what series of complete bonheaded moves allowed a extremist to get to the rank of Major in your army... |
You never cease to amaze me. If he had been kicked out of the Army you would be pulling that card how we just judge all Musliums as terrorist because he hadn't killed anyone yet. He kills poeple and its how did you allow him in the Army.

Hey dont blame me man. The guy supposedly wrote anti american and pro extremist stuff all over the net. Would it be right to lock him up? No. But maybe keeping him away from a base full of weaponry might, just might have some merit to it. You guys do look into who is running your military right, not just any idiot can grab a gun and off he goes right? The guy was a Major, eight year veteren and not once did somebody go hmmmm?

Hey guys, here's the deal ok. In the military they have something called being a "conscientious objector" Basically it means that you can get out of the military if it's against your religious or ethical belief. Of course it's hard to prove just to get out of going to Iraq, but in this guys case it would've been easy. I agree with Rev, this guy is a traitor. You can't blame this on PTSD,
Do I believe there are "cells" in the military? Hell yeah I do. Sad to say, but it's probably true.
Rev/Imadad, you guys think this guys should just be jailed for life or be hung/firing squad for being a traitor to the US? I think we should hang/firing squad him.

I dont think hell go to a tribunal for this to get the firing squad. This might get pushed to a higher civilian court.

I know he wrote those things on the net. You have in the past complained about the Bush administration taking proactive steps to people like this. After all the shooter had the right to his opinion. You would argue how many people have that opinion that do not act on it.
Remove him from the Army before his kills someone we are anti musliums bigots. Wait till he kills someone we are incomponate. We can't win for losing.

He has to recieve the death penlty. I think hanging is best. There is a certein honor to a firing squad. I know that may seem wierd but that is my opinion.

I wish that were true, but it is not. One of the weaknesses of religion is that many adhearents belief that because they believe in the god that they do they are inherently better than every one else. Those this is not taught by Christ many Christians begain to believe they are better than others. They forget where they come from. The muslium extermist believes that because he is a Muslium he is superior to people of other faiths. They believe that enough that they kill people like this shooter did.
You should be making these points not me.

It's been my experience that extremists act the same regardless of religion. They will kill people of a neighboring tribe even though they have the same religion. People have been killed over different political parties under the same banner of religion.
I know people who have the same arrogance in christianity, just no one dies. Catholic/ protistant/baptist doesn't matter. People will show an arrogance over their church as opposed to another even in the same denomination.
It's bacily the "My kung fu is better than your Kung fu" mentality. I work with a guy like that. We're both martial artists but his art is superior because he does it. We both ride motorcycles but his is better because it's an 18,000 harley and mine is metric. He's catholic I'm baptist. Some people just have to be an ass about everything in their life.
Granted there are those that tend to go waaaaay over the top with it.

I went to the PX on Fort Hood yesterday. There was no change to how we get on. They really can't make it more difficult. If they did it would take the whole day to drive through the main gate. Fort Hood has a day time population of over 100,000. At least 45,000 dirve on to post.
The only diffierence I notices was that there were gurads armed with M16s at all of the PXs, Commisaries, and shoppets.
