That has got to be one of the cutest puppy pics I've seen.

We were talking a few weeks ago about boxers interacting with other dogs. My sister just got a boxer puppy a couple weeks ago and we introduced her to Rudy over the weekend. I couldn't believe how good Rudy was. My sisters dog (Bella) is very tiny, she weights about 12lbs right now and Rudy was unbelievable with her. At first my sister held Bella and I had Rudy by the collar with one hand and around the chest with the other while they just sort of sniffed at each other. Eventually we worked up to Bella being up on a couch and Rudy on the floor. Bella was barking, growling and nipping at Rudy's ears and Rudy just sat there like nothing. She even started resting her head across Bella's body, seemingly to try and calm her down. I could not believe how good Rudy was with her. It's going to be a couple months before we'll really be able to let them play together though. Rudy is just way too big and doesn't know her own strength she could really hurt Bella without even trying.
I'll have to try and get a picture of them together this weekend, before Bella starts getting big. The size difference is just astounding.

Yeah Bigs, Heath is a champ- really great around other dogs. I would recommend taking Rudy and Bella on a walk as soon as they see each other next time and make them walk next to each other (not one in front of the other or they will see it as trying to dominate them). It will get out some of that excited energy that they will both have, and will give them more of a pack mentality as opposed to one encroaching on the other's territory or owner. Obviously it would be more for Bella than Rudy at this point as she sounds like she is pretty balanced, but taking a good walk together makes play time a lot more controlled in my experience- it has worked for me whenever I introduce another dog or when another dog comes to visit.

I know what you are saying and I agree that it can be a good idea.
I'm not sure it's a great idea in our situation though yet. Rudy is not comfortable around other dogs because I did a bad job of socilizing her. She seemed to be ok when Bella was right in front of her, but she got uncomfortable when she got behind her. I need to wait until Bella gets a little bigger before I'll feel totally safe with them together without myself being in complete control. I don't necessarily think Rudy will attack Bella but Rudy is literally 8x Bellas size (80lbs vs 12lbs), her head might be as big as Bellas entire body, and she can hurt her way to easily.

I'm pretty sure your dog could hurt a grown man without even trying haha. Being around 2 crazy, and big boxers, for a few days made me think of them as a cougar crossed with a pitbull.

Haha!
Rudy's awesome though. She just likes to play rough and I let her because I like to also. She means well, but she's just so strong. She's also very sweet too. She still likes to lay on my lap and cuddle up with me in my bed.
That's pretty typical of boxers, they stay puppies at heart for most of their lives. It's part of the appeal of the breed.

I have to spend some time around different boxers. I got a terrible first impression, but I won't let the beauty of the forest be ruined by a few ugly trees (I heard that once and thought it was a cool quote haha). I heard a guy say today that his grown boxer still plays with squeeky toys like a madman...at night, in the dark, just about any time.

Here are a couple pictures of Rudy and Bella from last night. Bella has definitely gotten bigger over the last couple weeks. Still a long way to go though She's a little devil.
Last night was the 3rd time they got together and they are doing so well. We actually had them both on the floor together and Rudy was letting Bella climb on her with no problem. Rudy did take a couple swipes at her though, it seems like she does it when Bella tries to move away from her. Otherwise Bella was biting and batting at her and Rudy just took it. It seems like Rudy is starting to warm up to the idea and she seems like she really likes her.
I'm really excited for Bella to get bigger so they can play together.
