I just put a bench under my pull up bar and helped myself with my feet when I needed it. I made sure I was pulling as much as I could though.

So tomorrow is a CFT, squat, shoulder press and dead. How do I go about it? Do I work my way up to my 1rm or just do a light warm up and jump into it?

Warm up, then you get 3 shots at hitting a 1RM.

If you click on "Crossfit total" on the main page it gives you a little bit of an explanation.

Squat: 1x 275, 1x 295, 1x 315 (fail)
Shoulder Press: 1x 135, 1x155, 1x 175 (fail)
Dead: 1x 275, 1x 295, 1x 315

I felt good going into the last squat attempt but about 1/4 the way up I stopped moving all together.

I am happy with the numbers. The shoulder press was standing.

The pull up ladder was a blast. I read about it last night and couldn't wait to try it out. BTW good work on getting to 6. I bet 99.99% of the fellas in my gym couldn't make that mark.

I have to say though, 235 feels really heavy when it is hanging from your hands! I am hoping that sticking to this I can greatly improve on pullups!

You'll definitely improve your pull-ups. They are probably the most frequently done exercise in crossfit. When I first did crossfit last spring, I needed like 50lbs of assistance to get 8 reps. After a few months of crossfit I was able to do 8 reps with a 25-30lb weighted vest and was doing multiple sets of 10 as part of my warm up.

It's part getting stronger, it's also losing weight and it's also improving your CNS and getting better at actually doing them.
